I'm thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of the young artists in Mesa who participated in the Bike to Books Design Contest. This inspiring collaboration between the City of Mesa's Bicycle and Pedestrian Program and Mesa Public Library has showcased the boundless creativity of our local youth.
With over 90 unique designs submitted, it's evident that Mesa's young talents have a vibrant imagination. The contest, categorized into three age groups, allowed these creative minds to express their vision of the world through art.
A dedicated team from the City of Mesa Transportation Department and Mesa Public Library staff meticulously reviewed and voted on all the entries. Their task was undoubtedly challenging, given the abundance of artistic talent displayed in each submission.
I'm delighted to share that three grand prize winners have been selected, one from each age category. These talented young artists will have the privilege of seeing their artwork come to life on a Mesa Shared Use Path. The installations will be carried out by the City of Mesa Transportation Department's skilled striping crew, using thermoplastic and propane torches to ensure a lasting display.
This initiative not only celebrates the creativity of our youth but also enhances our community by infusing it with their unique perspectives. It's heartwarming to see how art can inspire and connect us, and I'm proud of Mesa for fostering this creativity in our young residents.
Let's continue to support and celebrate our budding artists as they contribute to the beauty and vitality of our city. Congratulations to all the winners and participants of the Bike to Books Design Contest! Your artwork will brighten our paths and inspire all who encounter it.
